Course content
The course is designed as a combination of workshops and theoretical lectures, emphasizing inclusion and diversity in both content and participation. The one-week intensive practical workshop will give students the opportunity to learn skills related to audiovisual content creation, expanding their expertise in dramaturgy, directing, editing, and sound design. Students will focus on creating content that promotes community development, respects child rights and protection, and incorporates trauma-informed practices when addressing refugee experiences. On a theoretical level, students will reflect on the evolution of digital media and discuss the impact of social networks on society, particularly how digital platforms can enhance participation in democratic life and support inclusive communities. The underlying theoretical framework is the theory of digital citizenship, which critically examines issues of ethical and responsible behavior in the online space. This includes fostering inclusion and diversity, safeguarding child rights, applying trauma-informed practices when engaging with refugees, and promoting effective, sustainable communication and collaboration in the digital environment.
