From a theological perspective, interreligious dialogue is the source of many provocative and controversial but also inspiring topics. This seminar aims to introduce students to selected figures in interreligious dialogue who have contributed to the development of theology of non-Christian religions. The structure of the seminar will guide learners through the thinking of those who, through theological intuition (Alois Musil), theological study (Louis Massignon) or spiritual experience (Henri Le Saux) have advanced theological knowledge and thus influenced the life of the Church. The selection reflects the most important figures of interreligious dialogue in the context of Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, and the Indian dharmic tradition. Special attention will also be paid to specific issues of Czech interreligious relations. Content: - Interreligious dialogue: theory and practice. - Judaism: Johannes Oesterreicher. - Islam: Alois Musil, Louis Massignon. - Hinduism: Henri Le Saux, Raimon Panikkar. - Buddhism: Hugo Enomiya Lasalle. - Taoism: Matteo Ricci. - New religious movements: Matthew Fox. - Religious phenomenon: Jacques Dupuis.
