Course content
|
At the beginning of the course, students are divided into groups based on their preferred foreign language: English, German, or Italian. The topics of individual webinars depend on the specific instructor?s choice and the proficiency level of the students enrolled in the group. Examples of conversation topics: the language of the Bible and the specifics of modern Bible translations the language of the contemporary liturgy of the Roman Catholic Church life in the Church (basic terminology) basic theological and philosophical terminology etc.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to prepare students for basic communication and reading in a foreign language (English, German, Italian), with an emphasis on vocabulary used in a Christian context and in Christian-oriented texts (the Bible, basic liturgical texts, and church terminology). The focus is on predetermined conversational topics, including listening exercises; students are expected to expand their vocabulary, including the basics of specialized terminology.
Upon completion of the course, students will have expanded their vocabulary in the field of Christianity and church terminology, including the basics of specialized terminology used in the field of theology.

The course is designed for students with a minimum level of A1,2.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Written exam
Active participation in webinars (max. 1 absence), working with a pre-selected text?reading, analysis, translation; completing assignments according to the current LMS study materials.
