The student will become familiar with the main types of applied research and its use in the practice of social (humanitarian) work and social policy. They will learn to distinguish research types based on time frame, purpose, data used, and commissioning party. The student will practice designing a mixed research design using both types of research and various methods of triangulation. They will become acquainted with the ethical and organizational aspects of collecting and analyzing qualitative and quantitative data and will be able to design research based on ethical principles and assumptions.
