Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to introduce students of the Social Work with Children and Youth program to the theoretical foundations and philosophy of coaching, specifically in the context of working with children, young people, and their families. The course will provide students with tools and methods for the effective application of coaching techniques that can be used to support the development of children and youth in various social contexts. It will also focus on developing self-reflection and interpersonal skills, which are essential for the role of a coach in social services. Students will become familiar with different coaching approaches, tools, and methods, including their application in personal growth, professional development, and team collaboration. They will learn how to adapt these approaches to the needs of children and young people. The course will also introduce students to core coaching competencies, including communication skills, ethical principles, building trust, and the ability to lead effective coaching sessions.
