Students will practice designing research within both quantitative and qualitative approaches. They will become familiar with key data collection methods (questionnaires, in-depth interviews, observation, focus groups), as well as with methods of data analysis, including the use of specialized software. They will understand the advantages and disadvantages of both types of research and their applicability to specific research problems. Students will learn how to read research reports and become acquainted with ways of presenting both types of data. Upon completing the course, students should be qualified to commission and interpret research studies in the field of social sciences.
