The lecture blocks are focused on providing basic orientation in criminal law, including the practical applicability of the acquired knowledge, on the following topics: Introduction to criminal law, basic division of criminal law disciplines, distinguishing between crimes and misdemeanors, substantive criminal law, basics of criminal liability, elements of a criminal offense, stages of criminal activity development, criminal cooperation and participation, circumstances excluding unlawfulness, sentencing, types of crimes with a detailed focus on crimes against family and children, Procedural criminal law, stages of criminal proceedings, subjects of criminal proceedings, rights and obligations of individuals against whom criminal proceedings are conducted, Juvenile justice law, specifics of criminal proceedings involving minors, Domestic violence: definition, causes, characteristics, and forms of domestic violence, profile of the victim and perpetrator, legal means of protection from domestic violence, Victims of crimes: their position and rights in criminal proceedings, adhesion proceedings, particularly vulnerable persons, specifics of interrogations of certain persons based on their age, type of crime, relationship with the perpetrator, trusted person and representative of the victim, Probation and mediation services: probation, mediation, parole, execution of community service sentences, and bans on attending sporting, cultural, and other social events.

Participation in classes according to the rules of UP Olomouc, supplemented by self-study. Attendance at a court hearing during a main trial and the preparation of a brief report on participation in this hearing. The teaching will take place online.
