Course content
|
Fundamental terminology of New Testament study. Basic questions about the canon of the New Testament (its development and history). Questions about the text of the New Testament (the main manuscripts of the Greek text, ancient translations, textual criticism). Detailed introduction to all of the books of the New Testament (including the circumstances of their formation, their literary characteristics, structure, content, theologies). Familiarization with the political and religious background of the New Testament period.

Learning outcomes
|
The history of the development of the canon of the New Testament. The transmission and preservation of the text of the New Testament. Introduction to the individual books of the New Testament (circumstances of their formation, their literary and theological character). Political and religious background of the period of the New Testament.
Students will acquire basic knowledge about the content, text and formation the New Testament. The student will gain familiarity both on the New Testament as a unit and on its constituent books.
