Learning outcomes
The course introduces the issue of attachment, emphasizing that the quality of attachment?particularly to primary attachment figures (parents, caregivers) in early childhood?significantly contributes to either resilience or, conversely, vulnerability to psychological and psychosomatic disorders and an unhealthy lifestyle. A major risk factor for psychological and psychosomatic disorders is psychological trauma, especially within attachment relationships (such as neglect or abuse). This is an exceptionally complex issue that is currently best approached both theoretically and practically by considering the biopsychosocial model of health and illness.
