Learning outcomes
The aim of this multidisciplinary course is to enable understanding of and emphasize the importance of collaboration across various fields in acquiring knowledge about assistive technologies and to foster better understanding of the people served. Students will work in teams to identify a clinical need relevant to a specific clinical setting or client population and learn to understand the roles of professionals involved in the development and use of assistive technology. Students will also gain awareness of the lives of people with disabilities and demonstrate critical and creative thinking in researching solutions to clinical problems. In a written assignment, they will develop a multidisciplinary perspective on a selected assistive device or technology.
