Burnout Syndrome in Special and Inclusive Education and Practice: Definition and conceptualisation of burnout syndrome in educational and helping professions Symptoms of burnout syndrome and their manifestations in special and inclusive education Developmental stages of burnout syndrome Types and polarities of burnout Risk factors for the development of burnout syndrome Diagnosis of burnout syndrome Moderating factors, prevention, and intervention Principles of mental hygiene for professionals working with people Principles of an active approach to stress management

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to develop students' professional understanding of the issue of burnout syndrome in special and inclusive education and to prepare them for its recognition, prevention, and management in educational and helping professions. The course seeks to ensure that students understand its manifestations, developmental stages, risk factors, and the possibilities of diagnosis, prevention, and intervention. An integral part of the course objective is also to develop the ability to apply principles of mental hygiene and active approaches to stress management as an essential component of the professional competences of practitioners in special and inclusive education.
Course graduate: - has knowledge of the nature, manifestations, and risk factors of burnout syndrome in special and inclusive education, - is familiar with the possibilities of diagnosis, prevention, and intervention in relation to burnout syndrome, - understands the importance of mental hygiene and stress management as components of professional competence, - is prepared to apply principles of burnout prevention in educational and support practice.
