Course content
The course defines the concept of social counseling from the perspective of current legislation in the Czech Republic, in terms of content, clientele, and providers. Attention is also paid to ethics and the process of providing social counseling, given the difficult social situations in which clients of this service may find themselves. The demands and requirements placed on social service counselors are also characterized.

Learning outcomes
The content of the discipline is the definition of the concept of social counseling from the point of view of valid legislation in the Czech Republic, from the point of view of content, clientele and providers. Attention is also paid to ethics and the process of providing social counseling due to the demanding social situation in which the clients of this service may find themselves. After completing the course, students will be able to define social counseling and will be familiar with the applicable legislation. They will also be able to define the differences in the content and focus of social counseling in various crisis social situations. Students will understand the demands placed on social counselors with regard to the diverse clientele of social service users or persons at risk of social disadvantage.

Oral exam, Dialog

- The condition for obtaining credit is a minimum of 80% active participation in seminars. - The exercises involve working with texts and subsequent debates or discussions on current issues. To complete the course, students are required to write an essay or analysis on a selected topic and subsequently participate in a colloquium debate.
