Course content
The content of the lesson will be the following topics: - Legislative framework in the field of organization of care for persons with disabilities in the Ministry of Education. - A detailed description of the disadvantage, including the specific characteristics of persons with disabilities. - The impact of visual impairment and visual impairment on education, including the application of individual PO areas relevant to this target group. - Diagnosis of ZP in the Czech Republic (using diagnostic manuals ICD, ICD and DSM). - Educational system for pupils with SEN - focusing on pre-school, primary and secondary education. - Counseling system for pupils and adults with visual impairment (including counseling implemented for this target group in social services - especially for blind people) - Basic definition of the competencies of a special educator in the field of diagnosis of SEN in the Czech Republic. - Diagnostic materials, their availability and reliability. Positives and negatives of the complex nature of ZP diagnostics - Characteristics of basic diagnostic materials. - Structure of diagnosis and differential diagnosis in the field of ZP. Basic diagnostic techniques and tools. - An overview of basic intervention procedures in the framework of supporting pupils with SEN - Characteristics of multiple disabilities (in conjunction with MP and sd hearing impairment). - Interdisciplinary cooperation in the field of care for persons with disabilities.

Learning outcomes
The subject is aimed at identifying the causes leading to the weakening of visual functions and visual impairment, which are reflected in school failure and are thus the reason for setting up support measures. The causes of school failure with the need for 1st grade SEN are identified by teachers and school counseling specialists (special pedagogues, for pupils with SEN in grades 2-5, the diagnosis is covered by counseling staff and the Social Security Administration (SPC for pupils with SEN). After completing the course, students will be able to define the basic diagnostic tools applied in diagnosing the effects of visual impairment and visual impairment on education, describe the most frequently used intervention (re-education and compensation) mechanisms that are part of the education strategies of these groups of pupils. Course graduate has knowledge of: the causes of impaired visual functions and the development of visual impairment and their relationship to school underachievement, principles of identifying educational difficulties of pupils with visual disadvantage and visual impairment in relation to the setting of support measures, the legislative framework for the organization of care for persons with visual impairment within the education sector, specific features of visual disadvantage and visual impairment, including their impact on education, the system of support measures relevant to pupils with visual impairment, principles of the diagnosis of visual impairment in the Czech Republic, including the use of the ICD and ICF classification systems, the structure of the educational system for pupils with visual impairment in pre-primary, primary, and secondary education, the counselling system for pupils and adults with visual impairment, including counselling provided within social services, the competences of special educators in the field of visual impairment diagnosis, basic diagnostic materials and techniques, their availability, reliability, and limitations, principles of differential diagnosis in the field of visual impairment, an overview of intervention, remedial, and compensatory procedures used in supporting pupils with visual impairment, specific aspects of multiple disabilities in relation to visual impairment, the importance of interdisciplinary cooperation in the care of persons with visual impairment.
