Course content
Within the discipline of Special education of children with behavioural disorders, students will become familiar with the principles and procedures related to the upbringing, education and integration of children, youth and adults who have emotional and behavioral disorders.

Within the discipline of Special education of children with behavioural disorders, students will become familiar with the principles and procedures related to the upbringing, education and integration of children, youth and adults who have emotional and behavioral disorders. The subject is designed and structured in accordance with a logical sequence, and individual topics reflect the social importance of the phenomena discussed. Emphasis is placed on the issue of antisocial and aggressive behavior of individuals and entire groups, a substantial part of the teaching consists of strategies for managing undesirable behavior, including corrective phases. A large part of the teaching is also devoted to the analysis of the parental background of delinquents and the analysis of other negative influences that affect the school performance of individuals, as well as their family life and professional growth. Upon successful completion of the course, the student will be able to: Demonstrate knowledge of the basic concepts of etopaedics and understand the principles of education, training, and social integration of children, adolescents, and adults with emotional and behavioural disorders. Analyse manifestations of dissocial and aggressive behaviour in individuals and groups within educational and social contexts. Identify causes and risk factors of behavioural disorders, with particular emphasis on family background, parental influences, and other negative social determinants. Apply strategies for managing undesirable behaviour, including preventive, intervention, and corrective approaches appropriate to the individual's age and specific needs. Evaluate the impact of emotional and behavioural disorders on academic performance, family functioning, and professional development. Design appropriate educational and pedagogical interventions that support inclusion, social adaptation, and personal development of individuals with behavioural and emotional difficulties. Reflect on ethical and professional responsibilities of educators and other helping professionals when working with individuals and groups at risk of delinquent behaviour.
