Course content
Course Content Introduction to information and communication technologies and assistive technologies in the context of special educational needs. Digital accessibility and e-inclusive approaches for persons with special needs. Principles of universal design and their application in education and digital technologies. Specific aspects of using information and communication technologies in the educational process for persons with special needs. Distance and blended forms of education for persons with special needs. Accessibility of electronic documents and digital learning materials. Use of artificial intelligence in supporting persons with special needs.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to develop students' professional knowledge and understanding of the use of information and communication technologies and assistive technologies in relation to persons with special needs and to prepare them for their qualified application in the field of inclusive education and support. The course seeks to ensure that students understand the specific aspects of using ICT in the educational process for persons with special needs, are able to critically assess the accessibility of digital educational materials, and are oriented in the possibilities of distance education and digital communication for these persons. An integral part of the course objectives is also to provide students with a basic orientation in the possibilities of using artificial intelligence to support persons with special needs and to guide them towards the responsible, ethical, and effective use of digital technologies in inclusive education.
Learning outcomes Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to demonstrate knowledge of: - key concepts, objectives, and functions of assistive technologies in relation to persons with special needs, - principles of digital accessibility and e-inclusion in education and digital communication, - principles of universal design and their relevance for the development of accessible educational and information systems, - specific aspects of ICT use in the educational process for persons with special needs, - opportunities and limitations of Internet use and digital communication for persons with special needs, - principles of distance and blended learning for persons with special needs, - principles of creating and adapting accessible electronic documents and digital learning materials, - basic applications of artificial intelligence in supporting persons with special needs.

A prerequisite for successful completion of the course is the student's active participation in classes, including regular attendance, engagement in discussions, and fulfilment of ongoing study requirements arising from the organization of the course.
