The aim of the course is to introduce students to the basic concepts, foundations, and areas of typhlopedagogy and to develop their elementary professional orientation in the field of persons with visual impairment. The course seeks to ensure that students understand the specific features of visual impairment, its impact on the development and life of individuals across different age groups, and that they are oriented in the basic areas of support and development of persons with visual impairment. An integral part of the course objective is also to provide students with a basic awareness of special educational methods used in typhlopedagogy and to prepare them for further systematic study of this field.
Upon completion of the course, the student will have knowledge of: - the basic concepts and foundations of typhlopedagogy, - the characteristics of visual impairment and its basic classification, - specific aspects of the development and education of persons with visual impairment across different age groups, - basic areas of support and development of persons with visual impairment, - basic special educational methods used in typhlopedagogy. |
