Course content
Main factors influencing the treatment plan. Main biomechanic principles of the therapy with orthodontic appliances. Classification of orthodontic anomalies with the focus on Angle Class II and III. Principles of orthodontic treatment of anomalies in the number of teeth, impacted teeth solution.

Learning outcomes
Main factors influencing the treatment plan. Main biomechanic principles of the therapy with orthodontic appliances. Classification of orthodontic anomalies with the focus on Angle Class II and III. Principles of orthodontic treatment of anomalies in the number of teeth, impacted teeth solution. Part of the course will be the practice of diagnostic procedures and treatment of acute conditions to medical first-aid service in the premises of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Classes will be held under the supervision of Institute of Dentistry and Oral Sciences andDepartment of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery lecturers.
Students are able to examine an orthodontic patient. They can make analysis of models, evaluate OPG, cephalogram, and X-ray of a hand and a wrist for the assessment of skeletal age. They are able to adjust a loosen part of orthodontic appliance which may cause a patient´s discomfort.
Prerequisites
Knowledges of previous subjects.
ST1/ZUA36 and ST1/ZUB37 and ST1/ZUB35

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral exam, Student performance

100% attendance on seminars and on practical education, theoretical knowledges of requisite themes.
