Course content
Indications, contraindications and surgical management in periodontology, including guided tissue regeneration and use of implants. Indications for orthodontic treatment in dentition with periodontal diseases. Recall. Practical part include examination, diagnostics and treatment plan in patients with periodontopathia. All kinds of conservative therapy of periodontitis, and simple surgical management of periodontium.

Learning outcomes
Indications, contraindications and surgical management in periodontology, including guided tissue regeneration and use of implants. Indications for orthodontic treatment in dentition with periodontal diseases. Recall. Practical part include examination, diagnostics and treatment plan in patients with periodontopathia. All kinds of conservative therapy of periodontitis, and simple surgical management of periodontium. Part of the course will be the practice of diagnostic procedures and treatment of acute conditions to medical first-aid service in the premises of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Classes will be held under the supervision of Institute of Dentistry and Oral Sciences and Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery lecturers.
Students are able to provide conservative therapy of periodontal diseases, to make a treatment plan, to determine indications of surgical management of periodontium, to perform simple surgical interventions in periodontium.
Prerequisites
Knowledges of previous subjects.
ST1/ZAB51 and ST1/ZAA52

100 % attendance. Practical executions: periodontal examinations 4, control examinationst 10, the plan of therapy 4 (treatment plan) information of motivation 5, assistance at periodontal surgery 4, scaling and root planing 10, deep scaling 2 sextans
