Course content
|
Practical training of deaf and deaf-blind communication systems - basics of Czech sign language, finger alphabet and speech reading/lip reading. Practical exercises using situational scenes for communicating with a person with hearing impairment, practical recommendations of procedures and techniques used.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the subject is to increase competencies of the students of the Medical Faculty and to acquaint them with the specifics in communication with the hearing impaired persons, with an emphasis on the risks of the communication barrier to the hearing impaired people. To define the meaning of the term hearing impairment. To teach the students the basics of communication systems of the hearing impaired - Czech sign language, finger alphabet and speech reading/lip reading.
Practical knowledge of the basics of communication via the Czech sign language.
