Course content
Introduction to medical ethics , basic ethical concepts and ethical dilemmas . Typology of health systems with information systems in health care. Definition of health and illness, social importance of health and disease . Codes of ethics in health care, ethics and law relationship . Population health and its development . The health insurance system in the Czech Republic . Demographic statics (population base ) . Demographic dynamics (population processes) . Care for specific groups obyatelstva and ICD-10. Ethical principles in health care.

Learning outcomes
The aim is to introduce students to basic ethical concepts, definitions of health and illness, the social determinants, to acquire knowledge about the dynamics of health disorders in terms of the natural history of the disease and also familiar with the possibilities of health, the role of primary, secondary and tertiary care and prevention of all types . The aim is also to familiarize students with the problems and situations arising from dilematickými some specific areas in medical ethics.
After passing the subject, the student will be able to implement the knowledge about economical, systematical and epidemiological aspects of health and illness into the process of providing health care. The student should also be able to orientate himself in the special areas of medical ethics and his approach to the patients should be based on basic moral principles and standards.
