Course content
Evaluation of the individual condition and needs of the client/patient in clinical conditions and diseases that are related to risks, irregularities and pathologies during pregnancy and childbirth and disrupt the quality of experiencing this period of a woman's life. Diagnostic assessment of the needs of clients/patients, plan and evaluation of the care provided by the midwife. Education of the client/patient and her family. Midwife care during conservative and operative treatment in obstetrics. Subject content/ areas to be tested 1. Cardiovascular disease and pregnancy, PA care 2. Lung disease in pregnancy, PA care 3. Diseases of the gastrointestinal tract during pregnancy, PA care 4. Hepatopathy in pregnancy, PA care 5. Diseases of the excretory system, PA care 6. Blood diseases, Rh incompatibility, PA care 7. Diseases of the endocrine system, GDM, PA care 8. Infectious diseases in pregnancy, zoonoses, STDs, skin diseases, PA care 9. Neurological and psychiatric diseases in pregnancy, PA care 10. Malignant diseases in pregnancy, PA care

Learning outcomes
The course extends the acquired knowledge about the causes of the occurrence and subsequent limitations in the life of a woman in case of irregular, risk and pathological pregnancy and childbirth. Students will learn to diagnose and satisfy the individual needs of women according to the principles of the nursing process in midwifery and the latest findings of midwifery.
Students will know: causes and symptoms of abnormalities and pathologies in pregnancy; differential diagnostics of risk pregnancy problems and principles of risk pregnancy education.
