Course content
Patient with a homeostatic imbalance (water and electrolyte economy, acid-base balance), causes of pathological changes, clinical manifestations, diagnostics, treatment options, foetal effects, complications. Patient with metabolic disorder (diabetes mellitus, hypoglycaemic and hyperglycaemic coma), clinical manifestations, diagnosis, treatment options, foetal effects, complications. Patient with associated disease of the endocrine system (diseases of the brain, thyroid gland, adrenal gland, acute conditions associated with them), clinical manifestations, diagnosis, treatment options, foetal effects, complications. Patient with serious infectious disease (meningococcal meningitis, syphilis, acquired immunodeficiency syndrome, hepatitis), clinical manifestations, diagnosis, treatment options, foetal effects, complications. Patient with associated haematological disorder in critical condition (congenital and acquired coagulopathy, haemolysis, anaemia), clinical manifestations, diagnosis, treatment options, foetal effects, complications. Highly specialized nursing care.

Learning outcomes
The subject is focused on highly specialized care in diseases in the area of: endocrine system, disorders of the internal environment, metabolic diseases, infectious diseases, hematopoietic system diseases.
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to provide a highly specialized care to women with particular illnesses.

100% attendance at lectures, case study of a client with a selected type of disease - diagnosis of the disease, care plan, use of EBmid.
