Acute stress reaction DSM-5, ICD-10 and ICD-11 classifications, changes and differences Monotrauma, cumulative and complex trauma Developmental trauma and attachment disorders Categories of traumatic events and general symptoms Specifics of the effects of trauma in children manifested in the school setting Dissociation and dissociative disorders Diagnosis of trauma in children, confusion with other difficulties Trauma therapy, basic principles of family and school approach Specific areas, post-traumatic growth, epigenetic links

Learning outcomes
|
Issues of trauma and PTSD in children and adults. Specific developmental aspects of traumatic events that manifest across the lifespan. Issues of diagnosis and therapeutic specifics especially for school-aged children.
The goal of this course is to acquire basic knowledge regarding the impact of traumatic events in childhood and adulthood with an emphasis on developmental aspects. Introduction to the basics of diagnosing trauma in children, including the most common confusions with other difficulties. Therapy of the effects of trauma, basic principles of the family and school approach. Students will gain key knowledge for applied practice and research in this area.
