Course content
1) School success in context, grading and formative assessment 2) Emotions at school, school climate, socio-emotional competence and their development 3) Moral development in school context and value education 4) Class climate and relations in class (sociometry, role of pupils in class, types of class collective) 5) Negative phenomena at school - outside bullying, and how to work with them (truancy, substance use and its prevention, effective preventive programs, etc.) 6) Negative phenomena in school - bullying, its prevention and solution 7) Inclusive education, pupils with SEN and gifted pupils incl. legislation 8) Standardized testing within education, IQ and criticism of the selectivity of Czech education 9) Teachers and specifics of their profession, required skills (eg classroom management, etc.) 10) Role of parents in education system and communication with them

Learning activities and teaching methods
Lecture, Monologic Lecture(Interpretation, Training), Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming), Work with Text (with Book, Textbook), Activating (Simulations, Games, Dramatization)

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the problems of school success, standardized testing, specifics of individual actors in education (parents, teachers, pupils), social processes at school incl. negative phenomena and their interrelationships.
Graduates: - are familiar with the occupational requirements of teachers and are able to describe the specifics of their interaction with students - know the basic principles for interaction with other stakeholders in the education system
Prerequisites
Knowledge from cognitive and social psychology, terminology of educational psychology.

Assessment methods and criteria
Mark, Oral exam, Didactic Test, Seminar Work

Active in-class participation, completion of assignments (2 reviews), passing the final oral exam. More details on Moodle.
