Course content
|
The particular seminars will be focused to the following areas of oral pathology (all clinicaly oriented): 1) maldevelopment of oral cavity 2) inflammation of gnathic bones 3) pathological fractures of gnathic bones 4) pathology of maxillary joint 5) periodontitis 6) pathology of parodont 7) odontogenic cysts 8) differential diagnostic of odontogenic tumours 9) oral cavity in haematologic malignancies 10) progressive changes of oral mucosa 11) laeukoplakia 12) erythroplakia 13) tumours of oral mucosa - advances in early diagnostic 14) importance of saliva in diagnostic praxis 15) viral infection in oral cavity

Learning outcomes
|
Detailed knowledge in the areas of special pathology with more orientation to clinical praxis by the form of seminars focused on selected topics of oral pathology.
After completing the course, student will be able to implement acquired knowledge in clinical praxis.

Prerequisites
|
Knowledge in general pathology, basics from preclinical dentistry, appropriate knowledge in anatomy, biology and physiology.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Dialog
The required attendance to practical seminars - a student is allowed to miss maximum one seminar. Unprepared students will be excluded from seminars. If a student fails to attend classes due to health or other serious reasons, they must attend substitute classes provided they have provided a satisfactory excuse. A maximum of two practical seminars may be made up for. Whether the reason stated is serious enough and excusable shall be determined by the respective teacher. colloquium - test
