Course content
Obsahem předmětu je studium epigenetických modifikací, které mohou vést ke změně genové exprese tumor-supresorových genů nebo onkogenů a být tak příčinami transformace buňky v nádorovou. Vysvětlení základních molekulárně-genetických metod při provádění metylačních analýz (bisulfitová modifikace DNA, sekvenování), studium acetylací (imunoprecipitace) a genové exprese (Real-time PCR, Western blotové analýzy).

Learning outcomes
Epigenetics is the study of the mechanisms that affect the phenotypic gene expression without altering the primary genetic information. In connection with changes in the gene expression, it is important learn about the types of epigenetic regulation such as methylation and/or acetylation. The methylation and acetylation are inherited modifications, but the changes do not take place as a result a base sequence. As these modifications occur due to environment or randomly, they are often causes of cancer.
The issue will be explained in terms of basic research. There is a possibility to obtain knowledge about using epigenetic regulations in medical practice and methods used in molecular-genetic research.
