1. Gemetric parameters - cardinal points positions, focal length, pupils, geometric brightness, field of view 2. Imaging parameters - aberrations, resolution, optical transfer function. 3. Measurement of geometric aberrations: Hartmann method, crossed slits method, moiré, photoelectric measurement, shadow methods. 4. Mesurement of wave aberration: interferometers with reference beam, shear interferometers, pinhole interferometer, Shack-Hartmann detector. 5. Subjective evaluation of image quality - resolution, readability, contrast, color reproduction, point / line / edge image, brightness uniformity. 6. Objective measurement of image quality - point / line / edge spread function, optical transfer function, modulation transfer function. 7. Photometric parameters - transmissivity, brightness, spectral transmittance, stray light. 8. Evalutaion of electro-optica imaging systems - sampling, quantisation, noise. 9. Evalutaion of infrared imaging systems. 10. Evalutaion of syystems with matrix detectors. 11. Measurement and evaluation of nonimaging optical systems - illuminators. 12. Measurement and evaluation of nonimaging optical systems - concetrators.
