Course content
|
Basics of the theory about psychological aspects of "C personality" (personality, family constelation etc.), disease, adaptation phase. Quality of life, part of disease, its treatment and life after disease. Self-experience seminary: learning the structure of personal contact with the patient (rules of the dialogue). Learning communication skills (principals, feedback) in emotionally difficult situation as keep the patient advised of serious (life-threatening) disease as well as his/her relatives. Position of the doctor and his/her patient in the process of the disease and its treatment.

Learning outcomes
|
Students will acquire basic theoretical knowledge of the psychological factors influencing disease and treatment. A basic knowledge of how to deal with the emotionally extreme situation of informing a patient and his/her family of his/her cancer diagnosis.
Upon conclusion, students will be able to communicate with severely ill patients and their families.
