Course content
- Morphine and its congeners: isolation, structural analysis, biosynthesis, total synthesis, structure modification, structure vs. biological activity - Modern synthetic methods for pharmaceutical compounds and their intermediates - Protecting groups - Peptides - Why and how to visualize interactions of small molecules and proteins in 3D: protein kinase inhibitors - Synthesis of organic compounds in practice

Learning outcomes
The seminar is desgned to connect knowledges of basic subjects in the area of organic chemistry. Students will learn to solve complex problems on several model topics.
