Course content
Individual praxis (2 weeks) is performed in state or private institution providing acute, chronic or community care - inpatient or outpatient institution or facility providing home care (e.g. hospitals, home care agencies, institution providing outpatient care). The aim of the individual praxis is to acquire knowledge about outpatients, inpatients and other facilities providing health care, to get acquainted with the ownership, cooperation with health insurances and local administration. The goal is to familiarise with the institution structure, professional and economic relations, models and methods of management, admission procedures, appointments and rejections of patients, discharge, referrals and emergency etc. Students should focus on intensive and highly specialised care, its accessibility and sequence, information system in health care, on operational and professional indicators, as well as management methods used in each department, on usefulness and quality of medical records and ethical problems in care provided.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the praxis is to acquire knowledge about outpatients, inpatients and other facilities providing health care, to get acquainted with the ownership, cooperation with health insurances and local administration. The goal is to familiarise with the institution structure, professional and economic relations, models and methods of management, admission procedures, appointments and rejections of patients, discharge, referrals and emergency etc. Students should focus on intensive and highly specialised care, its accessibility and sequence, information system in health care, on operational and professional indicators, as well as management methods used in each department, on usefulness and quality of medical records and ethical problems in care provided. Student will be able to: - assess models and management methods in an health care institution, - assess professional and economic relations in an institution, development of running and professional indicators, - asses the following processes: - appointments, admissions, discharge and transfer of patients, - follow-up and accessibility of specialised care, - medical record of care provided. - critically assess ethical aspects and care provided and company culture in a health care institution.

Student performance

Fill in the logbook with a mentor confirmation and submit the log from practice. Protocol requirements: 1. A brief description of the workplace where the Managerial Practice I was performed. 2. Describe the SWOT workplace analysis. 3. Self-reflection, proposal of changes in the company culture of the workplace. 4. Protocol Size - Max. 2 pages A4
