Course content
Students will get insight into enzymology of metabolism, activation of drugs, and biotransformation, both in pharmacology disciplines and bioorganic chemistry. Basics of proteomics and recent discoveries in enzyme catalysis (ribozymes, abzymes, artificial enzymes) will also be presented.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic Lecture(Interpretation, Training), Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming), Work with Text (with Book, Textbook), Demonstration
Learning outcomes
Enzymology of the metabolism and activation of the pharmaceutically active compounds and biotransformation in pharmacology and bioorganic chemistry will be presented. Chemoprotectants from natural sources in terms of metabolic changes will be dealt with as well. Topical fundaments of proteomics in medicine and pharmacology and new discoveries in enzymatic catalysis (related to medicine), such as ribozymes, abzymes, artificial enzymes etc. will be presented in the course.
Students will acquire capacity of orientation in biotechnology processes and in methods of protein characterization.
