Course content
Basic definitions of terms; specific characteristics of literature for children and youth from both an author's and a reader's perspective. Reading folk literature for children and youth. Tales, myths, and legends in children's literature. Folk and authorial fairy-tale, most significant Czech and world collectors and authors. Czech and world poetry for children and youth.

Learning outcomes
The aim of this subject is to introduce literature for children and youth, in accordance with the future professional needs of the graduates, as an original and valuable part of national literature intended for a specific circle of readers. A no less important aim is to provide the necessary prerequisites and expertise for graduates to develop their own interpretations of classical and contemporary texts for children and youth.
