Course content
Pre-reading literacy, the concept of reader literacy in the Czech pre-school curriculum. The development of cognitive and psychological processes, which are a prerequisite for the development of reading literacy of preschool children. Pre-school education, forming a positive relationship of pre-school age children to books and reading. The role of the family and kindergarten in the process of developing children's reading literacy. The so-called pre-reading behavior and child's readiness for school.

Learning outcomes
Objectives: After completing the course students should be able to: - to understand the nature, function and content structure of pre-school children's reader literacy, - to justify the importance of the development of reading literacy at pre-school age, - to define and stimulate the skills of preschool children, which are a prerequisite for the development of their reader literacy, - evaluate the role of the family and kindergarten in the process of developing children's reader literacy.

Assessment methods and criteria

The student will create an activity book focused on the development of reading preconceptions (development of visual and auditory perception, development of motor skills), vocabulary development and work with text suitable for working with children in preschool education. He will present the book to other students in the seminar.
