Course content
1. Language teaching and theory. 2. Current problems associated with the concept of teaching of the Czech language at 1st stage of primary school. 3. Application of linguistic knowledge in the context of the basic principles of RVPZV, integration of knowledge and communication education. 4. The use of activation methods and forms of work and thought process (with an emphasis on integration) in language teaching. 5. Specialized and didactic literature of the subject.

Learning outcomes
It is the integration of theoretical knowledge of students and school requirements for teaching the Czech language. The seminars will be dealing with current problems associated with the concept of teaching the Czech language, with emphasis on application of linguistic knowledge in the context of the basic principles of the Framework Educational Programme for basic education, integration of knowledge and communication education. The seminars will focus particularly on difficult language curriculum in the 4 and 5 grade of elementary school.
Students are familiar with theories of language and topical language teaching issues. They control the structure and content of educational materials for the 1st stage of primary schools (RVPZV). They can apply a variety of methods and forms of work in language teaching in particular with use of induction. They focus on current specialized and didactic literature of the subject.
Prerequisites
The seminar is designed especially for students of higher grades of teaching for the 1st stage of primary school. The seminar suppose basic knowledge of general didactics, pedagogy, morphology, syntax and stylistics.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance, Dialog, Analyssis of the Student's Portfolio, Seminar Work

Active participation in seminars, continuous performance tasks and creating of a portfolio of the student. Some tasks: Presentation of selected grammatical subject matter by inductive method (draw). Creating lesson plans of the Czech language using activation methods and forms of work. Creating a file of motivating exercises for language teaching. Creating a bibliography and portals for language teaching.
