Course content
1. Introduction to the course matter. Basic terminology. Historical background. 2. Media influences and functions in the pedagogical/educational perspective. 3. Theory of media pedagogics/education. 4. Theories of media socialization. 5. Media Competency/Literacy. 6. Media education in the family (Parental mediation of children's media use) 7. Curricular media education. 8. Extracurricular and leisure-time media education and media work. 9. Media didactics. 10. Responsibility of the media. Parental guidelines. The role of the state. 11. Meida(education) research and specific target groups. 12. Presentation of own media-educational project, activity or research concept.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Lecture, Monologic Lecture(Interpretation, Training), Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming), Methods of Written Work, Projection (static, dynamic)
  • Preparation for the Exam - 20 hours per semester
  • Attendace - 26 hours per semester
  • Semestral Work - 10 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The students will be introduced to the wide area of media education and socialization, incl. the theoretical, practical (in both school and extra-curricular environments), research, also historical and international contexts; subsummed in the discipline of Media Pedagogics.
Students acquire theoretical, practical and research knowledge from the area of media pedagogics, education and socialization in the context of the media. They will also acquire skills in development and evaluation of practical media pedagogies. They will also prepare and present their own media-educational or researach project.
Prerequisites
The pre-condition is the interest in the role and funciton fot the media in the society and for an individual and it's pedagogical/educational consequences.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance, Analysis of Activities ( Technical works), Didactic Test

- Active participation at lectures, discussions; - Work on own media-educational or relevant research project, its presentation and discussion, - Writtem exam/Test.
