Course content
Art history of the European Middle Ages looks at metamorphoses of architecture, sculpture, painting and applied art within the era of Romanic and Gothic style in connection with their significance and functions in the contemporary society. Against a background of the European creative panorama, the Romanic and Gothic style development in our lands is subsequently presented.

Learning outcomes
Overview of the history of Czech visual arts in the context of European art from Pre-Romanic art up to the end of the 20th century. Determination of the study course, periodization, style characteristics, cross-disciplinary relations (continuation of DU 1).
Good approximate knowledge of the history of Czech art and the ability to apply of knowledge in the educative process.
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of the history of European and Czech art.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written exam

Students engage in the classwork through minor tasks of documentary character. Written examination
