Course content
The lecture is concentrated on the development of World Architecture from the time after the World War II until now. Emphasis is put on the theoretical thinking and on the types of theoretical arguments, which are characteristic for the main developing lines of architecture in this period. Lecture is not concentrated on the particular styles but rather on the contribution of the big inventive personalities. In this cycle of lecture, which is held for several semesters, is analysed the work of Le Corbusier, Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, Louis Kahn, Luís Barragán, Robert Venturi, Aldo Rossi, Peter Eisenman, Steven Holl, Rem Koolhaas and Jacques Herzog-Pierre de Meuron.

Lecture
  • Semestral Work - 30 hours per semester
  • Homework for Teaching - 50 hours per semester
  • Preparation for the Exam - 10 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The lecture is dedicated to the history of world architecture from the World War II until today. The emphasis is put mainly on the contribution of the big inventive personalities, it mainly analyses the work of Le Corbusier, Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, Louis Kahn, Luís Barragán, Robert Venturi, Aldo Rossi, Peter Eisenman, Steven Holl, Rem Koolhaas and the team Herzog-de Meuron.
