Course content
Basic introduction to the methodology and procedures of independent research activities in the field of visual art history. It includes the heuristic research, recognition of a selected autopsy artwork, preparation of documentation, artistic and historical processing and assessment including the comparative exposure into the context of similar artistic creation. The output is represented by a seminar work or text appropriate for publication.

Learning outcomes
The seminar objective is to provide students with information on the methodology and procedures of independent research activities in the field of visual art history.
Student is iondependently able to process theoretically the topic. He/she is familiar with the methods, procedures and standards imposed on the theoretical work in the field of art history .
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of the history of European and Czech art.

Assessment methods and criteria
Analysis of Activities ( Technical works), Seminar Work

Participation in the seminar 80%. Delivery of the seminar work presenting results of the independent research based on the heuristic as well as field research. The work must meet requirements put on an expert theoretical essay.
