Course content
1. Theoretical introduction: expression means of painting, overview of techniques; tools and materials usable in painting 2. Principles of the colour theory: chromatic circle, basic colours, dual colours; warm colours, cold colours; complementary colours; broken colours, etc. 3. Psychological effect of colours (practical creative etude, aquarelle) 4. Colour contrast (practical creative etude, crayon) 5. Questions of colour shades, broken colours (practical creative etude, tempera) 6. Colour studies of natural materials (oil crayon monochromatic studies) 7. Sill life (crayon painting) 8. Portrait (tempera painting) 9. Free theme painting (random technique) 10. Experimental nonclassical painting techniques (picture destruction and washing, collage and dekalk application; natural dyes, plants, clay)

Learning outcomes
The course objective is to provide students with basic knowledge on the theory of colours, their psychological effects, colour composition and painting expression means. Students acquire practically the basic painting procedures and techniques through practical composition exercises, simple studies of natural products, still lifes, portrait painting, and especially within a free painting creation. Accent is placed on the ability to experiment creatively with techniques and tools.
Mastered the basic art skills useful in teaching art education at the kindergarten.

Interest in the field, basic art skills.

Student performance, Analysis of Creative works (Music, Pictorial,Literary), Didactic Test

Assessment and examination requirements: - regular participation in seminars - submission of the complete creative work collection (schoolwork as well as homework), delivery of requested written tasks - successful test in the theory of painting
