Course content
1. Theory of art, aesthetics 2. Cultural institutions (museums, galleries, monument preservation) 3. Elements of artwork terminology 4. Styles and directions of visual arts. 5. Development of visual arts in Bohemia and Moravia

Learning outcomes
After completing the subject, students should be able to understand the basic and key terms and issues of the aesthetic theory, search for answers to actual questions of out-of-art aesthetics and apply aesthetic observations within a practical realization of the special- interest aesthetic education.
Overview of the history of visual arts in the Czech lands in the context of European art.
Prerequisites
Konwledge of art on the secondary school level.

Assessment methods and criteria
Seminar Work

Seminar work Monument in the student's region - at least 40 original numbered colour digital high-definition photographs (size of one photo about 1MG, documentation of exterior, interior and object mobiliary art) + original supporting text in Word: extent of approx. 3 standard pages (30 lines per page, 60 keystrokes per line), descriptions to photographs arranged by numbers (slogans or sentences), taking a portrait of the history and object art mobiliary; list of the used literature to be enclosed in conclusion. The seminar work shall be delivered one month before the semester end. Its quality fulfilment is a prerequisite for granting the assessment.
