Course content
The discipline introduces the form of contemporary museum and gallery presentations at home and abroad, both in terms of curatorial as well as with respect to the spatial resolution of the expositions. In particular, it focuses on the architectural design of museums and galleries and shows examples of successful innovative approaches to museum exhibits. Current trends in museum exhibitions will be discussed, including the use of digital technology, modern technology and interactive exhibits, or models. In connection with the presentation of art, the discipline will also focus on the philosophical reflection of presence in order to understand the general context of artistic expressions with actual phenomena and the processes of the society, particularly in the field of visual expression and visual communication. Students will be encouraged to actively grasp the problem of museum presentation, to critically analyze and interpret expressions of contemporary visual culture. Emphasis will be placed on the student's own evaluation standpoint, their ability to formally analyze and integrate these manifestations into the broader semantic context of visual communication and its social function. Teaching will be carried out through excursions to selected museums and galleries, including Benedict Rejta Louny Gallery, GASK Kutna Hora, White Aspens gallery etc. Basic topics: Presentation of artifacts Presentation naturfacts Museum expositions? current trends Contemporary visual culture
