Course content
Basic terminology - social deviations, social pathology, social norms, labelling approach, Pygmalion effect, stigmatization. Mechanisms of social control, socialisation processes disturbances. Social deviations theories.

Lecture, Monologic Lecture(Interpretation, Training), Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming), Work with Text (with Book, Textbook)
  • Preparation for the Exam - 35 hours per semester

Learning outcomes
The rise of sociology. An outline of sociological theories of the 19th and 20th centuries. Basic sociological terms. Social structure and its changes in society. Culture and society. Sociology of education. Sociology of deviant behaviour. Social norms. Social deviations, social pathology, individual and social values break-up. Social control and its problem areas. Classification and social deviations theories.
Student will be able to identify sociology as specific science deal with society in general. Student will know development, object of interest and methods of sociology.
Prerequisites
Ability to work with scietific articles/books and course books. Critical thinking, willingness to debate.

Assessment methods and criteria
Mark, Written exam, Essay, Student performance, Seminar Work

Passing the written examination concerning the concepts dealt with at the lectures. The form of the exam are open questions with the teacher's precise instructions.
