Course content
Topics: Social ethics as a subsystem of ethics; basic terminology, typology, characteristics of social differences and individual ethics; social institutions from the perspective of social ethics - their importance and influence on individuals (the problem of freedom and interdependence, interpersonal interaction and benefits of cooperation); the concept of a reductionist error; social ethics in the teaching profession and teaching practice; principles of human coexistence; basic features of human behavior rules in society.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to characterize basic postulates in the field of social ethics. The difference between individual and social ethics including connotations will be explicitly pointed out. The terms: freedom, equality, tolerance in relation to social ethics will be characterized. Concepts of its typology and structuring will be presented, the theory of the so-called reductionist error (reduction of social ethics to individual and vice versa) will be explained. All the theoretical foundations will be given examples of practical life with an emphasis on the specifics of the teaching profession and the educational process. Students will prove their analytical skills on examples from the field of social ethics.
Eligibility: At the end of the course students should be able to: "to clarify the importance of social ethics, including its inclusion in the science system, "describe the basic typologies and subdivisions, including an example of human behavior for each type, "on a specific example to characterize the essence of reducing individual ethics to social and vice versa, "apply the acquired knowledge to the educational process, "characterize the dilemmas the teacher encounters in the educational process from the perspective of social ethics, "be able to clarify the social principles of ethical and moral conduct, "to understand the rules of human behavior in society with regard to aspects of freedom, equality and tolerance.
Prerequisites
The prerequisite is the orientation of students in the literature and knowledge of basal terminology.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance

Compulsory and active participation in seminars, elaboration of a seminar paper on a selected topic in the field of social ethics (with citations and foreign publications) in the range of 4-8 standard pages and its subsequent presentation at the seminar, self-study and preparation for credit.
