Course content
Characteristics of the VMEGS (Education towards thinking in European and Global contexts) topic- The roots of European civilization- Key milestones of European history- Famous Europeans- European integration- Europe and our homeland. Europe and the World- Our neighbours in Europe - lifestyle, nations' traditions and cultural diversity- Dimensions of globalism- Global issues of mankind- Projects and methods of global education

Learning activities and teaching methods
Activating (Simulations, Games, Dramatization)
  • Attendace - 13 hours per semester
  • Homework for Teaching - 6 hours per semester
  • Semestral Work - 8 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
This subject is focused on the European dimension of education, developing European identity awareness while respecting national identity and the formation of global thinking. Fundamental knowledge of European integration and institutions of the EU will be developed. Traditional European values and the roots of European civilization will also be discussed. The concept of globalization, along with the world in the context of global problems, will be explained as well, and how these have led toward the development of global thinking.

Assessment methods and criteria
Analyssis of the Student's Portfolio

- 100% participation at the seminar- elaboration and submission of seminar theses one week prior to credit week- elaboration of one topic in the form of PowerPoint presentation
