Course content
topics: Development of historiography and its influence on the creation of textbooks and teaching history. Genesis of the education system and history teaching in primary and secondary schools in the past and present. Development of methodology of history. Basic questions of educational research and its application in theoretical and practical work of history teachers. The process of creation and implementation of didactic history. Interdisciplinary relations in teaching history.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming), Work with Text (with Book, Textbook), Activating (Simulations, Games, Dramatization)
  • Attendace - 30 hours per semester
  • Preparation for the Exam - 20 hours per semester
  • Semestral Work - 10 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, students should be able to: - Know and use basic methods and forms of teaching history, - To understand and explain the relationship of historical scholarship and teaching of history as a school subject, - Analyze the learning process in the teaching of history in terms of objectives, content, stages, principles and educational resources - Understand the new trends in the concept of history as a subject and socio-cultural impact of curriculum reform on its status and tasks within the FEP and SEP.

Clear knowledge of Czech and world history.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral exam

Didactic analysis of a given topic from Czech or world history semester work.
