Course content
History of modern European civilization

Learning activities and teaching methods
Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming)

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint students - future teachers of citizenship education and social science basics - with the most important events, documents and personalities of European history of the 20th century in the context of shaping modern statehood and the process of European integration after 1945. At the end of the course students should be able to: "define and analyze the concept of modern European statehood, "to clarify the basic milestones of the political development of the most important European states (Great Britain, France, Germany and Russia, respectively the USSR) in the 20th century and to find in this development the basic consensus and differences, "explain the causes, pros and pitfalls of European integration, "characterize the most important milestones and selected personalities of European history of the 20th century and assess their importance, "to analyze and evaluate European history of the 20th century in the context of current events.
