Course content
Topics: - Theoretical definition of Ethics as a scientific discipline (basal terminology, concepts of conscience, morality, good). - Values and their changes in history, crisis of values in postmodern society. - Axiological and moral context of the educational process at present with an emphasis on the pupil with ISP. Ethical and moral dilemmas in the educational process. - Ethical education in FEP BE focused on primary school and pupil with ISP. Examples of didactic transformation of current problems in the world into primary school curriculum. - Characteristics of civil society, its importance, goals. Forms of citizens' participation in political life - elections, citizens and their community, social organizations and movements. Possibilities and examples of active participation of the individual in social events. - Critical analysis of information sources, principles of communication and interpretation of communication, cognitive approach to professional and non-serious information. - Terms: authority, power, justice, responsibility. Ways of applying democratic principles and values in school life - student self-government and student parliament, code of rights and duties of children, open school.

Learning outcomes
The aim is to acquaint students with various theoretical concepts in the field of active citizenship and axiology and confront them with real practice on specific examples from the Czech Republic and the world.
At the end of the course students should be able to: "to define ethics as a science, to characterize its subject, to use and apply the basic conceptual apparatus, "to clarify the relationship between ethics and morality, "characterize the problems of the educational process in terms of ethics and morality, "to define the concept of Ethical education in FEP BE, "to state the possibilities of didactic transformation of the curriculum according to the FEP BE with regard to the pupil with ISP, "apply a suitable method of communication for educational practice, "to define the nature of ethical, moral and axiological problems in postmodern society and the educational process, "to define the basic terminology of democratic citizenship, "to clarify the importance of civil society in a democratic society, "to clarify the role, function and examples of the application of democratic principles in the educational environment, "to list concrete examples of active and functional civic associations, or activities, "assess the potential impact of individual activities on society, critically and in connection with the background and information.
Prerequisites
The prerequisite is the orientation of students in the literature and knowledge of basal terminology.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance

Compulsory and active participation in seminars, elaboration of a seminar paper on a selected topic (with citations and foreign publications) in the range of 4-8 standard pages and its subsequent presentation at the seminar, self-study and preparation for credit.
