Course content
Political developments in Europe in the 20th century. Formation of civil society. Nation-states. First and Second World War. Totalitarian regimes of the 20th century. Historical development of Europe in the second half of the 20th century. The culture of the 20th century.

Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming)

Learning outcomes
After completing the course, students will be able to: "Explain the basic problems and phenomena of European history of the 20th century, "Working with selected historical sources of the 20th century, "Characterize the main features of the cultural and economic development in Europe during the 20th century, "Understand and explain the transformation of European society in the 20th century.
Interpretation of the major events of general history.

Student performance, Seminar Work

Given a written analysis of historical documents - an analysis of the most important parts of the documents and to assess their significance. Term paper - essay depicting and commenting on the relationship of the Czech Lands and selected European country in the past, either at the state or national level (maybe even a combination of both). Analysis of historical documents and semester students submit work before granting credit.
