Course content
Current problems and questions of contemporary Czech society. Politics and economy. Problems and current issues of foreign affairs - politics, economy, environment, corruption, social problems, quality of education, vision and conception for the future, modern technologies and their interconnection with the so-called educational society.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming)
  • Attendace - 8 hours per semester
  • Homework for Teaching - 20 hours per semester
  • Semestral Work - 10 hours per semester
  • Preparation for the Course Credit - 18 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint students - the future teachers of civics and social sciences - with current topics and problems of contemporary society, both in the narrower context of the Czech Republic and in the wider European and global context. Issues related to the current political situation, economic problems, migration, environmental issues, sustainable development, deepening social disparities, corruption and clientelism will be accentuated, including education (problems related to public and private universities, regional schools).

General knowledges of the basics of civics in the range of secondary school curriculum
