Topics of the seminars: 1. Theories of political partisanship. 2. Types of political parties. 3. Conflicts and parties. 4. Party systems. 5. One-party systems. 6. Bipartisan systems. 7. Multiparty systems. 8. Size and strength of parties. 9. Regional parties. 10. Reconstruction of party systems. 11. Partisanship in Czechoslovakia. 12. The process of establishing the political party system of the Czech Republic. 13. Political parties in the Czech Republic.

Learning outcomes
|
The seminars will provide students with an overview of theory and pactice of political partisanship. Attention will be paid to the issues of party systems and their reconstruction or problems of constituting party systems of the Czech Republic.
